Adding value to people's lives
Well-being of all our stakeholders is an important foundation of Stahl's ESG approach. We ensure the safety of employees and contractors through training, policies and certification; drive a culture of inclusion and diversity; and collaborate with partners across the value chain for societal impact.
Protecting and empowering our people

Key principles of our Global Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Policy
A strong safety culture involving the whole organisation
Safety, health and the environment as top priorities
Prioritising safety over short-term results
Implementing industry best practices and legal requirements
Knowledge as the basis of all decisions
We believe 'prevention is better than cure,' that a safe working environment is a collective endeavour, and we protect our colleagues and each other. This focus on safety also extends to our customers and neighbouring communities around our facilities.
Although the responsibility for Safety and Health lies with everyone in the company, our Global SHE and Process Safety Manager sets our Global Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) strategy, standards and policies, implements them throughout the company and ensures we follow them. All local managers and general managers are responsible for implementing the SHE policy and principles in areas under their control, such as systems for the recognition of hazards, assessment of risks and provision of effective controls. Furthermore, each Stahl site has a dedicated SHE Manager who ensures that the regional organisation is implementing the SHE policy and is a key contact between the local site manager and the Global SHE & Process Safety Manager.
Our health and safety policies apply to everyone who works at Stahl's locations, including temporary workers.

As part of our ESG Roadmap to 2030, our ambition is to create a true safety culture, with a target of zero accidents and incidents and ISO 45001 certification for all Stahl sites by 2030*.
Our policies
*The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) helps organisations improve their performance by specifying repeatable steps that organisations can implement to achieve their goals and objectives, creating a continuously self-evaluating and -improving organisational culture. All our manufacturing sites are ISO 9001-certified and many are ISO 14001-certified. This provides the elements of an Environmental Management System (EMS) for achieving environmental and economic goals.
