Improving environmental impact
At Stahl, we take a holistic approach to sustainable business. We’re not just focused on reducing emissions from our manufacturing processes, but on improving the environmental impact at every stage in our value chain – driving business that’s better for our people, our products, and our planet.
Science-based targets to cut emissions
We take target-setting seriously. Our emissions goals are ratified by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), a global partnership between the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
Stahl is one of the few speciality coatings providers to receive recognition for our science-based approach to emissions reduction, leading the way to a more sustainable coatings industry.
A cleaner, safer product portfolio
In 2024, we achieved Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) MRSL 3.1 Gateway certification for over 2,000 products in our portfolio. This certification represents the highest level of compliance with the ZDHC certification programme, demonstrating the safety and sustainability of our product range.

Stahl’s priorities for sustainable innovations
Innovation is part of Stahl’s DNA and our aim is to enhance product performance while minimizing the product impact from raw material to end of life.

The road to 100% bio-based polyurethanes
At Stahl, we use the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology to measure the environmental impact of a product and reduce our carbon footprint.
Collaborating for a better world
Our social commitment extends beyond our organisation to our partners in the value chain and the societies in which we operate. Our partnerships focus on driving change together, with a shared vision on corporate responsibility and sustainability goals.
